A beat that lives in the page. The dots swell with the 808, the letters lean on the hats, and the whole thing stays silent until you say so.
Beat is off.
Pieces
Every piece gets one word and a credit line that names what it is about. Built pieces link out. The rest are sounds that exist and exhibits still to make.
The title system
The channel we studied names a beat with the artists whose sound it wears, then one word. We keep the shape and turn it around. The line names the families the piece is about, then says what it is: an original type piece. The word is short and concrete.
Pick one or two families, then name a piece.
One sound for each idea
Each family in the map has a sound, and the inner signal has five more. They are modules in the engine. Turn sound on, then press one.
How it listens
- 808
- Sends a ring through the dot field. The harder the drive, the further the dots move.
- Hi-hats
- Each hat sets one letter of the title heavy, then lets it go. A roll runs across the letters.
- Tape dropout
- The field fades with the record. In the last bars it does not come back.
- Reduced motion
- The field and the type hold still. The beat still plays if you ask for it, and the readout counts the bars in words.
