Survey sheets

Every crosshair sits on a nodal crossing. Every numeral is a parameter of the tile it marks.

The plexus joins swimmers nearer than the radius it prints. The dial fills to the share of tiles a generator drew.

A ruled sheet: a mosaic of sand-plate tiles and flat red, yellow and blue squares, a black band of swimmers joined by a white plexus, and an instrument panel with a dial and a table of values.
Sheet I Plate and crowd

Three more

  • A sheet whose top band is Muybridge's horse posterized in blue and carrying the texture of a 1900 district map; below, tiles of archival plates, a thin-film band with a yellow heptagon on its brightest block, and a Hamming-field tile.

    Sheet II

Muybridge's horse, moved along its own edges, wears a 1900 census map.

  • Grainy black looping shapes with a thin orange rim, flat red, yellow, blue and green discs, split balls and small four-point stars on a pale ground.

    Glyph field

Tubes grown along a curl field from one seed, rimmed, set with primaries.

  • A painted ember field broken by a green-striped scanline wave and scattered colour blocks; below, a glyph cluster quantized to coarse cells; a strip of Hamming and thin-film tiles and a black ruler panel.

    Static weather

A painted field through a broadcast. The glyphs below sit on a cell one sixteenth of the tile pitch, and the ruler ticks at four cells.

Feedback plate

Two membrane modes trade places once every ten seconds. Each frame re-reads the last, so its blocks compound. Twelve drawings a second, each held for two frames.

Another seed

The same chain, drawn here, now. A seed is the whole score.
