gwamoleipstop, digital motion printed frame by frame
Post by 뭐해먹고사냐 (@gwamoleipstop), 2026-10-25
What it is, and who made it
Two clips of a motion poster made by printing each frame and re-shooting it, so ink spread, paper grain and small position errors become part of the motion.
Parts, layer by layer
- Method: digital frames printed with small changes, framed and filmed (O, post text).
- Look: white poster, black curling ribbon forms, small type (O).
- Measures: spread exponent 0.17, spread rate 0.013 per second, loop closure 2.58 (M); edge softness 0.42 (hard print, M).
- Fluid reading: diffusion, opacity; additives ink and time; bleed, transformation, layering.
The framework behind it
Print as a filter on motion: each frame passes through a physical medium that adds its own noise. The post's words: imperfection makes the screen feel alive.
The same idea in distant fields
- Rotoscoping and xerox animation.
- Analog film grain and gate weave.
- Risograph misregistration.
Dual edge
Fake analog can feel nostalgic and dishonest at once; say when it is simulated.
